A little more than ten years ago, the Pastoral Staff met together to discuss a pressing problem facing the Chinese churches today - the generation and language gap. More and more young people are having difficulty in adjusting to the morning Chinese worship service of Bacolod Trinity Christian Church. The result... a resolution came up for conducting a second service that will minister to the non-chinese-speaking population of the church. The solution was then presented to the Bacolod Trinity Christian Church Board of Elders and Deacons. After much thought though, the church board deemed it best that instead of having a second service, a daughter church would be established - a church with her own vision and identity.

Building upon the decision of the board, the first step the Pastoral Staff took was to select key persons to act as the core group leaders to pioneer the work. Twelve people consisted of the first core group that was formed - with three being members of the Pastoral Staff. A structure had to be built and so the members of the core group had to meet several times as was necessary. After many prayers, the structure was formed. The consensus… to start a cell group church. The cell group would be the heartbeat of the church and her vision. A name different than that of the mother church was of course more appropriate. And so, Trinity Christian Fellowship or TCF was conceived.

For a month, a trial period went on to lay the foundation. Then on the 14th of September 1997, the first worship service of TCF was initiated at Mayfair Plaza. Around 50 worshippers honored the launching. Within the first three years, Trinity Christian Fellowship began to form her own identity and her own composition of worshippers. A transitional period of around 2 years took place before TCF finally developed her own identity with the first batch of members baptized in December of 1998.

Still today, the Core Group operates, plans and reaches decisions with these in mind:

*To be a CELL GROUP church where the Cells are her heartbeat.

*To be a vessel for UNITY among the Christian churches and community.

To raise up True Worshippers of God and saturate the city with His gospel. John 4:23-24
